The CIAM offers 16 Scholarships for Spanish as a Foreign Language active teachers thanks to a program from the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León.

This is the Spanish Prescribers Program.

This program will offer, to 16 active Spanish as a second language teachers in educational institutions outside of Spain, a scholarship that covers accommodation and living expenses, enrolment in the ELE Teacher Training Course, 15 hours of pedagogical update workshops, and 6 hours of literary update with the writer J.A. González Sainz.

The stay can be for 1 week. The course enrolment is included in the scholarship.

General information

• Dates: Participants will be able to travel from August 3 to 7, 2026;
• Number of scholarships: 16 scholarships to take a training course and a 6-day stay at the Duques de Soria Residence in a single room with a bathroom and full board included.

Participation conditions

• The prescribers must be active Spanish as second language teachers who have not participated in the program in the last 3 years, and who work in educational institutions abroad, outside of Spain.
• The prescribers must participate in a course offered by CIAM and attend at least 80% of the classes.
• The lack of accreditation of any of the points mentioned in the previous paragraphs will unconditionally result in the loss of the granted position and the impossibility of obtaining future positions.

Steps to apply for the scholarship at CIAM

• Before June 15, 2026, teachers will have to:
  • Send to the email address coordinacion@ciantoniomachado.com a document issued by the educational institution to which the recommender belongs, certifying their status as a member of the staff and an active Spanish teacher, and a copy of a valid identification document (passport or ID card).
  • Respond to the scholarship application form.
• Once the fulfilment of all the requirements to receive the scholarship has been verified, the teacher must enrol in a CIAM course. To formalise the enrolment in the Spanish as Second Language Training Course, you must register online without making the payment.
